    Artist and TED Fellow Christine Sun Kim introduces American Sign Language (ASL) through her art work. ASL is a fascinating and unique visual language used by Deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States and Canada. Unlike spoken languages, which use sounds to convey meaning, ASL uses a combination of hand gestures, facial expressions, and body language to communicate.
