ACTFL’s Lead with Languages discusses myths and misconceptions about language learning. The myths/misconceptions discussed in this article include: (1) Not everybody speaks English.; (2) Language skills are no longer just a “nice to have.”; (3) We need more than google translate!; (4) Language classes are anything but dull.; (5) Learning two languages won’t confuse children or impair their cognitive ability.; (6) C++ is not the only language you need.; and (7) It’s never too late to learn a language.
