Simon, a current LaGuardia student majoring in Japanese, and Oscar, a LaGuardia alumnus and current graduate student at the MLIS of Queens College, met for the Language and Culture Mentorship Program in December 2021.

They visited Queens Museum since they were both Queens residents and this relatively unknown local museum was the best place to learn more about each other and about their own neighborhood. During their visit Oscar answered Simon’s questions about the transfer process and experience at Queens College, where he obtained his BA in Linguistics (with a minor in Korean). Simon is graduating and is planning to transfer to a 4-year institution in Fall 2022.
