New York Forum of Amazigh Film (NYFAF 2024 on 4/18/2024-4/19/2024)The 9th annual NY Forum of Amazigh Film (NY FAF) will occur on April 18-19, 2024, at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center and Columbia University. The event, themed "Memory & Resilience," features a variety of programs including a Short Film Competition showcasing films like "Ayyur/Moon" and "Re-exist." Additional activities include film screenings with guest speaker Izza Genini, an Algerian Chaoui Dance Workshop led by Esra Warda, and a feature screening of "No Harm Done" by Merzak Allouache. Unlike spoken languages, which use sounds to convey meaning, ASL uses a combination of hand gestures, facial expressions, and body language to communicate.
